Ishigaki Island mangrove scenarios

The case presents plausible future island socioecological scenarios with concrete narratives and key metrics, building on existing broader-scale scenarios and on local policies and statistics.

The case derives from one of four case study sites under the umbrella project, "Plausible alternative futures of Island mangroves in the Asia-Pacific: Scenario-based analysis and quantification of mangrove ecosystem services in coastal hazard mitigation and climate change adaptation". Other sites are North Andaman Islands and estuarine island mangroves from Odisha (India), Oriental Mindoro (the Philippines) and Tamsui River Estuary, Chinese Taipei.
